Bass-Baritone Nicholas Borg has been praised as "an engaging visual and vocal actor" (Opera Canada) with a "warm, sonorous baritone" (Stage Door Toronto). 

Recent performances include Scarpia in Tosca with the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Yukon Arts Centre, and the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, Pete in City Workers in Love (Weisensel/Cavanagh), Bass soloist in Messiah for RESOUND Choir and Masterworks of Oakville, and Baritone soloist in Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs for RESOUND Choir. Upcoming appearances include Bass soloist in Messiah for the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra, Guelph Chamber Choir, and Choral Connection St. Thomas.

In opera, Nicholas has performed Dandini in La Cenerentola for Manitoba Opera, and Alexander Graham Bell in the Parks Canada production of Dean Burry/Lorna MacDonald’s The Bells of Baddeck, as well as Don Alfonso in Cosi fan tutte and Marchese in La traviata for Brott Opera. In 2019/20 Nicholas was a member of the Yulanda M. Faris Young Artist Program at Vancouver Opera, where he performed Barone Douphol and covered Germont in La traviata, performed Fiorello in Il barbiere di Siviglia, and received the Kurt Sickert Award from the Vancouver Opera Foundation.

Nicholas has been a chorus member of the Canadian Opera Company and a soloist for Toronto Operetta Theatre,  Voicebox: Opera in Concert, the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Toronto, the Grand Philharmonic Choir, and the Windsor Symphony Orchestra. Nicholas is a graduate of the University of Toronto Opera  program and McGill University, and an alumnus of the Manitoba Opera Digital Emerging Artist Program in 2020, and the Edmonton Opera Emerging Artist Program in 2025.

Nicholas brings his extensive performing experience and community-minded arts creation to his practice as an arts administrator. He is the Executive Director of Toronto City Opera, a community focused opera company, and was previously the Managing Director of the Amadeus Choir of Greater Toronto, as well as the Administrative Assistant at the University of Toronto Opera.
